Synopsis •

A photo album, a diary, and an outdated address in Jakarta are the only clues Masumi has to track down her biological father on the other side of the world. Two stories intertwine—one reconstructing the relationship between Jule and Arif through the diaries of Masumi’s late mother, and the other following Masumi’s journey to Java as she searches not only for her father but also for a sense of belonging between Germany and Indonesia. Over the course of the documentary, these narratives merge and blur.

A film about identity, the intersection of two seemingly different cultures, grief, repression, and confrontation.
